Two years of answers
A look back at another year of rummaging for answers, and questions for you to shape what's next
This week marks two years of Answers in the Pages! I’m revisiting the past year and asking you to share your thoughts. First, I’m giving credit for this reflection post idea to
by way of .Before I go into a highlight reel, thank you so much for taking the time to read, like, and comment. I know we’re all constantly consumed with content—and it feels like everyone has a newsletter—so I truly value the time you spend here. I hope it brings you a little joy and a lot of reading recommendations. And a big thank you to paid subscribers, it means so much to have the extra support.
Most viewed monthly recap
This newsletter started as a monthly reading reflection combined with an adult show-and-tell to share my favorite recipes, music, and links of the month. Blame The Artist’s Way, but I craved more and expanded to other series, but the original monthly recaps remain. I’m still channeling the HAIM sister’s energy from June, I hope you are too.
Most viewed book list
This series was unintentional, but after sharing The 4 books I keep on my nightstand, I was compelled to continue sharing themed book lists. This nonfiction list was not only the most viewed book list, but the most viewed post from the past year. Unclear if it was Billy Crystal or the life-changing aspect that made this one such a standout.
Tell me: Do you have a book list request?
Most viewed Answers With interview
I started the Answers With series to mark one year of the newsletter. It’s been such a joy and is one of the most rewarding parts of this newsletter. Initially, I was nervous about reaching out to people, but I’ve been so pleasantly surprised at the enthusiasm to the request. I’ve only had one person I’ve reached out to who never responded. That said, thank you so much to all the interviewees for their time!
Tell me: What questions would you add to this interview series?
Most liked post
I wrote about The Artist’s Way a lot in 2024, and it’s still one of my Books I Won’t Shut Up About. This also ranks as one of my favorites for the year.
What’s next?
I just ran through a list of the most popular posts, but to be clear I’m not crushing the Substack game. It’s taken me this long to reach 100 subscribers. I never set out for this to be about the numbers. It’s been an exercise at tapping into my creativity, finding my writing voice, and connecting with others. Heading into this next year, here’s what I’m prioritizing:
I’m just a few months in to my 40 Someday series and it will go through July 2026.
I’d love to see more connection in the comments: book recs, recipes, playlists, dive in! What do we think about the weekly eating and reading chat I tested?
As I continue editing my draft novel and figuring out what’s next, I hope to share some sneak peeks.
Tell me: What else do you want more of? Less of?
I’m leaving you with the song that inspired the newsletter name and the official Answers in the Pages playlist.

Two years??? Congrats that’s amazing.
I can’t believe it had been 2 years! 🥳 my favorite part is adding books to my to read list or do not read list based on your feedback!
